mmagnus Posted December 24, 2005 Share #1 Posted December 24, 2005 Hi, I just installed a set of Konig Rewinds on my 70 Z. I bought them from MSA but could not get the center caps on. Anyone else run into this problem?Any solutions?Mark
Arne Posted December 24, 2005 Share #2 Posted December 24, 2005 Yes, I've seen other complaints on this as well. The caps aren't deep enough to clear the 240Z hubs and dust covers. Some people simply leave the caps off, or you could put a 1/4" spacer behind the wheel. Or I suppose you could convert to 280Z hubs and rotors, but that seems excessive to me. Cruez Posted December 24, 2005 Share #3 Posted December 24, 2005 You could try flattening the caps with a big hammer
Sweetpea Posted December 24, 2005 Share #4 Posted December 24, 2005 I have a '77... flattened my grease caps "gently" with a hammer, and the caps then fit. Have heard of others with earlier 1st-gens that were unable to get the caps to fit.

Gav240z Posted December 25, 2005 Share #6 Posted December 25, 2005 You can always get another set of dust caps on ebay for like $
Alfadog Posted December 25, 2005 Share #7 Posted December 25, 2005 You think you have centre cap problems......... you dont want to hear my story!! Good luck to you - looks like flattening the dust caps is the best (ie cheapest and easiest) answer.
