It has been my experience that anyone that carries out a project, to the level of excellence that you have, will in fact "do it again". You may not think so now, but after that now beautifully finished Z sits in your garage... for 6 to 12 months (maybe less)... the satisfaction you got out of completing it, will not over-come the satisfaction you got out of "doing" it. You will simply have to have something out there to fiddle with..., or you'll run across another solid, all but rust free body that could be saved with a little work...

I'm sorry, but the results of your efforts clearly show that you are seriously infected with both the 240-Z and the restoration bug. So don't sell that welder too soon, it would be a shame to waste all that experience by stopping at just one. :-)

I agree with you Carl 100%. At first I thought finally! And never again. But now I'm already looking for a candidate. Twins is what I'm thinking .

I gues one should "never say never" but looking back on this project there was some good days and some bad. You see, this was not only the first car i have ever restored, but the first time i have ever worked on a car, period. In my everyday i am just a business man (mortgage broker) and have no mechanical training. I got thru this project by asking a lot of questions from great guys you all and many nights i was just pulling my hair out and would just walk away for a week. The "240" bug hit me in 1990. My sister-in-law, the original owner of a 1970 all original Orange 240 asked if i would drive her car home one day coming back from the shop....that was it, i was hooked. 6 months later i bought that car off of her taking a 2nd job in a deli say i could make payments to her. I kept the car for about a year before it was stolen. I was heart broken and so was she to say the least. Since then, i was on the lookout for another 1970. Sorry guys, but only the 240 does it for me.

Finally i found the car in 2001 and shortly after buying it, i starting stripping it down to recreate the car i had in 1990. Only thing is, i went a little over board and starting learning what you guys were putting in your cars (engine, suspension, etc.) and decided i wanted to improve upon what Datsun had perfected. This is why you will look at my car and see that it looks mostly stock on the outside and interior. I just think the lines on the car should not be messed with. "Would you put a spoiler on an E-type Jag, NO".

I will keep updating my website, i have a ton of photos of the stages.

I love English sports cars. I was born and raised in England before moving to CA when i was 14...so i am a bit partial. In Highschool i had a 71 Triumph Spitfire. Constantly had problems with it but it was a bunch of fun. I would like to own a Austin Healy or XK150 some day.
