Posted December 27, 200519 yr comment_150184 Here is an awesome set of Watanabe's for a great price with a very nice lip. Some one pick them up for their Z or Skyline! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-Watanabe-AE86-Corolla-510-Datsun-240z-4ag-L28-240sx_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43954QQitemZ8025279331QQrdZ1 -Ben p.s. I know that I have posted many threads like this before, but I really like these wheels and I am just trying to get people more interested in these classic wheels. I would love to see more of them on Z's. p.p.s. Hopefully, my set of Watanabe's will be on my car soon. My front wheels are 14 X 7j type B (+8mm). December 27, 200519 yr comment_150191 Hey Ben! Happy New Year! Those are of the design I like the best. Mine are painted centers and a polished rim. They look great and you are right; no one seems to know what they are. Ha! The real deal. If you want a knobbie when you drive, drive on Watanabe. The Buy-it-Now price is quite reasonable. December 28, 200519 yr comment_150280 Can I assume that true watenabes have no centercaps? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18391-14-x-7j-watanabe-type-b-wheel-set-on-ebay/#findComment-150280 Share on other sites
December 28, 200519 yr comment_150283 You could...... but you'd be wrong There are a few different styles and sizes of centrecaps. A lot of cars don't run with them in Japan because A. it gives that "racer" look and/or B. they're easily stolen. Check out my gallery for one style. They come in black too (with red centre logo) and also a smaller hexagonal style. Might be others too? December 28, 200519 yr comment_150286 Ahhh. I love the wheels, but have never personally cared for the no-center-cap look. I wish my car was closer to the end, I'd grab this set. But there is SO much that I need far worse right now. December 28, 200519 yr comment_150312 Hi everyone:How are these different than say the Panasports/Mini-lites? 14x7 aluminum (yes/no?)Carl B. December 28, 200519 yr Author comment_150323 Personally the Watanabe's look much more aggressive due to the size and offset. They are also period correct as production started in 1968 and they were fitted on Z's and Skylines in Japan when new. They were also the wheel of choice for many racing teams in Japan. If you want to give your car a Japanese flavor if you will, these are the wheels to have. In my opinion, they look much different than Panasports and Mini-lites, it just depends on what style you like. -Ben Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18391-14-x-7j-watanabe-type-b-wheel-set-on-ebay/#findComment-150323 Share on other sites
December 28, 200519 yr comment_150341 Now I see two sets of new Konigs posted on ebay. Anyone care to share any opinions on how Konig rewinds compare against Revolution or Panasport?
