Nissan Racing

I've finally got a hold of this old game called "The Real Car Simulator - Nissan Edition". It has a whole bunch of Skylines and Silvias and 300ZX's... and its got a couple of nice bonus cars too - one being a Z432 Fairlady.

Anyway, it's a pretty decent game based on the same graphics engine as Gran Turismo 2 and the whole game is only 8 MB. Too bad it's very hard to find in any computer game store... I've never seen it in any shop.

Anyway, I can post a screenshot if you'd like... it's quite a trivial yet fun feeling thrashing a Z with a clear concious ;)

If you could post a screen shot Alpha, that would be great!

On the subject of thrashing Nissan's/Datsuns in an electronic sense check this game out;

http://www.racer.nl/

It is completely free and has the option of a couple of the old BRE racing team cars. The handling is a little funny but as close as you could get to a Zed on a PC :D

If you've got spare time and bandwidth give it a shot! The Mini that you can d/load is also a bit of fun, not to mention the Ferrari that someone has created :)

Cheers,

R.

Hey Alpha,

That's pretty cool considering the size of the game and the age! Can you get it in the shops at all? I don't think I've ever seen it out there...

Cheers,

Ross.

Hi Alfadog,

From the badging on the bottoms of the front wings, and the exhaust tailpipe, it looks as though your new acquisition is a 432.

Its going to cost you a lot of credits to get her to perform.........!

It is indeed a 432!

I now have a red one, a silver one and this yellow one. :)

The beauty of this game is that the cars dont cost you anything to buy, and once you've reached a certain level of credits (which you win by winning races) you can choose a level of tuning for most cars - either normal, light, medium, heavy or race - for free! The Z only goes up to heavy but there are many other things to play around with including camber, front:rear braking force, ride height and gear ratios!

And yeah I was going to ask about the double exhaust pipes... they look quite odd. Do they look any LESS odd in real life?

Hi Alfadog,

The twin-pipe system seems to be an acquired taste for some people. I have a full stainless system on my ZG, and some people look at the back of the car, then get down on their hands and knees, get back up, and start laughing. Seems they think that it is something I dreamed up after eating too much cheese before I went to bed. Poor souls don't seem to know that the twin pipe system was standard on the 432 and companies like Fujitsubo have offered them for the L-series engined cars from the year dot onwards.

These sniggerers are usually to be observed walking back to a sorry-looking S130 series Z with a really bad paintjob and a giant eagle sticker on the hood.....................

Don't know if it will come put all that clear, but here's a scan of the back of my car. Say you don't like it at your peril!........

Alan.

Hey Alan,

You know we wouldn't dare say it looked anything other than good ;)

Seriously though it does actually look quite good. Its funky in a retro kind of way, not what you want to see every day but it makes the car....

Cheers,

Ross
