Debate! "Colour of the Z"

What is THE colour for the DATSUN 240z? I mean if you ask anyone out there that knows what a 240z is and you asked him what colour reminds you of the Z! Debate folks! Give your answer and elaborate! After all has been said, I'll try to count the colors and the majority or the winner will be chosen "colour of the Z"!

When my wife and I decided that my next project car would be a 240Z, we discussed color. We decided we would buy whatever was available, but our preferred colors were orange first, and yellow second. Baby-poo gold was third. (We ended up with 919 yellow.)

Sporty cars of the seventies were frequently yellow or orange. Porsche 914 for example?

It is a little known legend that Dat's son ruled the Japanese sports car province with regal silver Z cars cast down from the silver cloud lining atop Mt. Fuji. Now, I would say that Japanese sports cars should be white with red accent, but the historical archives of Her Majesty the 26th show the final Z prototype cars painted silver. Perhaps silver was the designer's choice? You might say; "Chris! What about British Racing Green"? Well, BRG was a na-nana-boo-boo color chosen to snub the British car industry when the far superior Z car was introduced. There is no question that all Z car colors are beautiful, that the Z car looks great nude or painted, but silver is closest to nude metal and sexiest; conveying power and strength in the design.

Yeah, what Chris said, although I also like the red/blue/white BRE combination.

Its all ust my personal opinon, everyones got one, and some are bound to disagree with each other.

Me, I like blue, dark metalic blue - not a factory colour though. Dark metalic gray is good too, and black, all not factory colours. Orange is good. Red is a bit cliche, silver is a bit bland, Lime yellow is interesting, so is metalic olive green. When I think of he 240z no particular colour comes to mind.

Ah threads like this alway end in tears.

There is no best colour, its all persons opinion. It's like asking someone whats the best song. You are going to get lots of different answers, none of them right or wrong, just peoples opinions.

Sure ask people what their favorite colour is, just dont try and pick one as "The Z colour"

Sorry to rain on your parade. Feeling a little pessimistic today (last day of holidays, back to work tomorrow).

What colour is your Z 7240Z?
