sorry guys ..to me there is something about a jet black Z . I am painting my z this year and if I change it from its now grey coulour, it will be to jet black. More body work though to hide all bumps. But It is worth it (see avatar ... my old z from way back !)

Forgot to cast my vote!

ORANGE I don't know, something about this color that resembles the 240z. Maybe it was the first color I saw on the Z or maybe this color just fits the car! Just try to remember that not any car can pull off this color. This is a color that is very unforgiving and is very strong in character.

Second choice? RED Maybe because when I got the car, it was painted this way.

I'll try to keep this section updated with all the colours that is mentioned in this thread. Keep in mind that we aren't trying to label anything because it seems that it had a certain negative effect on some people and please remember that this is just for discussion sake! Awards shall not be handed out to anyone or anything like that.:bunny: After all this is just an "Open General Discussions" right?:smoke: So lets just have some fun with it :)

The colours:

WHITE - 2

ORANGE - 7

Yellow - 3

SILVER - 2

BRE editon - 1

NISSAN 301 - 1

BLUE - 1

DARK METAL GRAY - 1

BLACK - 2

METALLIC OLIVE GREEN - 1

RED - 4

NYC JADE GREEN - 1

My car was factory orange and I planned to repaint in the same color as I really like it . I do favor a dark blue and found one that was almost black and deeply metallic . '05 toyota color. I decided that for two reasons not to go with the dark color . one is visibality and the secound is the dark colors show every wart and blemish . My car even after lots of prep work , I dident feel it was a canadate for the darker color. I did a surch on PPGs web site and found the favoraites and found blue number 1 in the US , Yellow in Aus. Yellow was way down the list here in the US and I found that I really Liked the Yellow of the '05 Cobra Mustang , Screaming Yellow . Not being a person who likes to blend in , I now drive a Screaming Yeallow 240 . I agree that any color looks great on a great looking car , like our Zs. Gary

I own a 71 Gold 920, as well as an Orange and a Red 72 and 73 respectively. With that said, I'm going to cast my vote for ... Yellow. With a very strong second choice of that Lime-Yellow of the series I.

These in my opinion, and as asked, are ~THE~ COLORS of the Series I and II 240 Z's.

260 Z's? Dark Green.

280 Z's? Silver, and 10th Ann. in both Gold and Red, and Metallic Sky Blue.

FWIW

a flat silver, yellow, or orange.

however, a faded (patina'd sp?) 301 is damn nice.

wonder what 99 M3 blue would look like on a Z

or the Infiniti silver on the new coupe (c'mon it's family)

by the way, the massaged coupe is a beauty
