7240z

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I'm still in the process of restoring my 1972 240z and I was wondering if any of you guys was willing to help me out on parts? Since I live in the Philippines, certain parts are becoming very hard to come by. So if there is any parts supplier out there and is willing to ship to the Philippines I will be eternaly greatful and you will have a nice thought that you helped bring another Z back to life! So if you guys can help me out, that would be great! Thanks guys!

I would contact Les Cannaday of Classic Datsun 760-940-6365
If you are looking for new or used parts you might contact Rod at:

Rods Datsun Parts in San Jose, Ca. ph 408 448 3277.

Hey guys! thanks for the help! Would either of these guys be willing to ship parts to the Philippines? In terms of prices, Are these guys cheaper or a little more expensive than Victoria British? Because I was planning on ordering my parts from them.

Considering that you live closer to Japan than I live to MSA and the other California-based vendors listed it seems like parts places there might be a good option for you, at least in terms of shipping costs. The communications barrier might be a bigger problem although we do have a number of members who might be able to help you out there. It would also help if you could list some of the specific parts you're in need of.

You are right Mike! But I am curious about the difference between LHD z's and RHD z's? Could parts be tranfered to each of them? Right now? Top of my head, I need complete set of weatherstrips and tie rod ends L&R. Those are the two most important parts I need right now. The others are mostly accesories such as emblems and sway bars. Those can wait. Thanks Mike!

My guess is that almost everything is interchangeable, with some exceptions like the dash area and associated components, brake lines, steering linkage and rack. Anything else come to mind? But what do I know. Nissan part numbers would probably help out there.

In a way that makes sense because those are the only difference between the LHD and the RHD. I tried calling NISSAN here and they can't help me cause it might be too expensive for them and for me to bring in special parts that isn't in their inventory.Typical. Would anyone know if the newer models of Nissan shared or had similar parts with the 240?

His website does not do justice for the items that he has available, Les has a very large collection of parts, or access to parts that are difficult to find. I suggest contacting him directly with what you need specifically....

Les can be a little rough around the edges, but he knows these cars better than anyone, and has resored and raced them for many years. He is a great resourse.
