Stainless steel header??

Interesting thread... Brought back to life from 2007. :D

When I bought my 240, it came with a bunch of parts.

Interestingly enough, it came with a stainless header! I have not seen another one of these and I am assuming that it is some sort of a "one off" prototype or something. It has square ports and is a 6 into 2 type design. 1-3 cylinders into one and 4-6 into the other. There are no markings on it at all. It is bare stainless - no coatings on it at all.

The flange is a little over 3/8" thick. It is slightly thinner than the intake manifold flanges. To combat this, I machined off a little bit of each of the concave washers so that the washers catch the intake and exhaust flanges evenly. The tubes are thick and solid. The header seems to seal very well. It also has great clearance.

Has anybody seen another one of these? Any info would be appreciated!

Not great pics. I will try to take a couple of better ones tonight.

Thanks,

Tim

Just reviving this thread to confirm if the above conclusion is correct about the Fujitsubo Super EX Headers fitting LHD 240z? I see an image above posted by Somecreep of what looks like the headers in question clearing the steering shaft, but I'm still not sure and need confirmation.

Will it also work with SU Carbs?

I'm not going to argue that, but for now, SU's and just looking good will do while I save up for triples and additional modifications down the line.

I think I'll take the risk and assume it fits based on some of the information provided.

Thanks

I'm sure there are fabricators in California that can Custom make SS headers for Datsuns. We have an several excellent Datsun specialists up in BC who can fabricate them.

One of them is Specialty Engineering. Here is a sample of some of their SS work:

Sean Dezart who runs Zstory in France makes some really nice SS headers and complete exhaust systems for the Z at a reasonable price.

On his facebook-page "Zstory" you can see customer photos of the headers and exhausts installed. Looks really nice!
