Nissan concept

Has anyone seen the Nissan concept car. It's set to compete with the new 2 seat pontiac and Miata. I think it's called urge. Looks ok a little too much on the concept but they usually tone it down by the time it's produced.

It reminds me of the 340R, and anything that reminds me of the 340R is AWESOME. Though I don't think Nissan is going to produce anything like this in the near future. Not sensible enough. There was a Nissan concept I saw recently that looked similar to the CSP311 Silvia that I really liked... what was that?

Clearly this car was designed for the US market: LHD, temperature control in Fahrenheit, and an XBox 360 - none of which are even remotely popular in Japan.
From the press release:

" It was created by Nissan Design America, Inc., La Jolla, Calif."

Hi Guys:

As Chris said -it's a concept car. Several different design/styling alternatives or concepts are intermixed there in one platform. You can view it as a display case. The styling of the nose is one thing, the wheel arch treatments another and various parts of the interior are yet still others. You can see the "slab sided" intermix of different body materials as well. I think we can expect to see more plastic body panels on the exteriors of cars in the future. (al la Fiero and Saturn)

If you look at pages 9, 10 and 16 of the input we (the IZCC) gave Nissan back in 98 you might see some similar ideas in the case of the interior styling if not the design. Page 16 was our input for the roadster's rear deck and the 350Z came pretty close.

FWIW,

Carl

I saw this concept car in person and I can tell you that it will never make it to production in our lifetime. There is a third seat in the back (a 3-seater?) that folds up and down. The problem is, if you have a rear window in place (it didn't when I saw it) the passenger will have to be slumped over because his head will hit it or you could have a 2 year old sit there. It looks like a rumble seat placed too far forward. Has a 350Z type look in the front and a Prowler type look from the rear (reversed). The doors bulge out when looked at a certain angle that makes it look ugly. And I think they did some very good photoshop work to make it look like the car can actually be driven.
