Nissan concept

I saw this concept car in person and I can tell you that it will never make it to production in our lifetime. There is a third seat in the back (a 3-seater?) that folds up and down.

Curiously similar to the Fairlady roadster!

Hi Guys:

Page 16 was our input for the roadster's rear deck and the 350Z came pretty close.

See: http://zhome.com/OurZ/NewZf.htm

FWIW,

Carl

That is so ugly it makes the urge look good.

This is a good link for Nissan concept cars (and production) throughout the ages.

The urge?

My initial conclusion is that a designer at Nissan has attempted to discreetly copy the 350z but add enough awkward changes so as to hope nobody can see the resemblance.

If they clean up the lines a bit though, it could be better.

IMHO, it might also be in their best interests to change the name. "Urge" does not make me think of what will drive me to the grocery store... "Urge" makes me think of what currently 'drives' me to the bathroom several times each day. :P

I bet the guy with the urge drove a fiat x19 and thought it would look better fat and with a place to keep your right hand held up with no effort(T-roof).

Urge rates right up there with Black Dragon for Bone-Headed names. I am with KDMatt, this is what an automobile named "Urge" looks like:

Will

And now if you will excuse me,

I just got the urge...

Just as already said... it's a concept car. All companies make concepts to test ideas and reactions to those ideas. Realistically, chances are this car will never make it to production. And hopefully the name never even gets thought as even a remotely possible production name, but elements of this car could be feasible... we could very well see those headlights on a a very near model and maybe elements from the electronics, ie: new ECU or climate control devices, knobs and switches and so on and so forth.

As far as the concept goes, I would be more inclined to have a positive outlook for it if it was painted a solid color and had all of it's pieces... and a much better name, heck how about a play on an old name like ###SX or NX####. Engine size has yet to be nailed down but the concept is powered by the Frontier's 4cyl (2.5L), but Nissan told Car and Driver if the car was to make it to production it would have a performance oriented 4cyl.

my $.02-

Nate

Well,

The 350Z was a concept car once too and I think it's designers blew it. I think they should have gone for a more sleek, aeordynamic flowing appearance like the Jag XK8.....instead of a pregnant guppy with a front end that looks like one of Nissans trucks.........

I don't care for the Urge but that GT-R is totally saweeet! Sign me up if that ever make it into production. Kinda looks like the G35 but better IMHO.

I have to agree with Enigma, the GT-R looks pretty happening! I think they would be missing the boat if they don't go with all wheel drive......like the originals had! Very much like the G35, yes......nice car!

I like the GT-R, but I think the R34's and R33's looked better IMO. I really like the Sport Concept as a car I would own/be able to afford (maybe LOL). I think we are getting that car here in the US but I know it doesnt look that aggressive, does anyone know if there is an SE-R version or the like coming out down the road?
