Residents of L.A. will be honoured with a visit next week by a group of Australians promoting Australia as a tourist destination. The entertainment includes an award winning group of Aboriginal dancers.

So, anyone who thinks they could expect to see kangaroos bounding down George Street in Sydney, being chased by Aborigines chucking spears and boomerangs, should attend the show to get a more up to date idea of what God's country is REALLY like.

I'm sure Mike, (site admin), would go if it was at all possible. I understand he likes it here. (But he's only seen Melbourne, poor bloke).

Rick.

You assuies bombard our television with "Come to Australia - Leave your Money with us!" addys nightly. I'm sure it's a nice place, and a wonderfull place to visit. According to Quantas Air, it's friggin heaven on earth!

Of course, since I live in an area with a tourist based economy, I understand. Our motto here is " Come to L.A. Spend your money, then go home!

Even I, Homebody supreme, would like to go, mainly to the Tropical climes of upper Qld. Get a Pizza baked by Datsun Nut Alan Bent on the Gold Coast. When I see photos from that area, it reminds me of my former home in tropical south Florida.

Hey Rick, I'm with Victor. The wife and I would love to come down and just spend time on your beaches. Don't care too much about seeing the aborigines, I am sure they are fine folks to visit. If we ever get it together, I'll make sure I get with you first to hit the right spots

Oh hell yea... I'd go to that if I lived in LA. My travels to Australia were interesting. From all the wild Aboriginal people running through the streets spearing innocent bystanders, to the crazy 'Skippies' whacking cars with their tails, to the lazy Skippies laying out on the golf courses, to the rude and crude people... I'll never go back. I was a bit worried when I found snakes and spiders in my hotel bed. That was enough for me. JUST KIDDING!!

In all seriousness, I absolutely loved all of it. The modern city of Melbourne was host to many of the most polite Awckers (sp?) I've ever met. The landscaping was amazingly beautiful. I even spent one day on the ski slopes and another day at the races watching Todd Kelly rip up the competition. Only complaint is Australia needs more Starbucks!!!!!! But, next time I'm going farther North... It's warmer up there and the diving is amazing.

Anyway, I would consider migrating. I loved it that much. :bunny:

I don't think we will ever catch up to the US with the number of Starbucks (those things are everywhere it's ridiculous), but they are trying. Every time you turn around another one springs up.LOL

Don't joke about the skippies slapping cars with their tails. I have a ding in the front of my Z where a mother and joey decided to cross the road one morning. Plus I had a medium sized huntsman living in the Z for a few weeks too. It would run around the dash and the A pillar as it pleased.

I actually saw the ad's for Australia while I was in New York. Thought it was funny.
