Posted January 15, 200619 yr comment_152145 Any ideas on where to get new chrome window trim for my early 70 Z? I am repainting and want to upgrade exterior trim to new or like-new condition. Thoughts? Thanks,Steve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18564-best-place-to-acquire-new-chrome-window-trim/ Share on other sites
January 16, 200619 yr comment_152182 Try your local Nissan Dealer or Courtesy Nissan, Pinnacle Nissan, MSA, VB...Shop all for the best price-there will be some variation. Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18564-best-place-to-acquire-new-chrome-window-trim/#findComment-152182 Share on other sites
January 16, 200619 yr comment_152185 If you're talking about the trim that holds the black window squeegee I found that aftermarket version (I can't remember if I got it from MSA or VB) is much thinner and cheaper than the original and doesn't go on very well. It tends to get wavy when it's installed. I mainly needed new pieces because the rubber was dry and cracking. I ended up removing the rubber from the new units and installing it back on the original trim piece. It would be much better to find OEM replacements in my opinion. January 16, 200619 yr comment_152186 Hello, went to the junk yard, bought them cheap, brought them home and buffed them on my buffing wheel. They look fantastic. Rick. January 16, 200619 yr comment_152192 I have a similar question. My chrome is fine but the rubber is shot. Where would one get just replacement rubber (and hopefully save some $$)?
