Just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Armand and I live in South Carolina. I just bought a 74 260z. Its quite rusty and I'm debating whether to part it out or try to save it.

Can anyone tell me (or link me) what the body differences were between the 240 and 260? I've spent a lot of time searching the internet for info on other cars, but I'm having difficulty finding Datsun info. I find this very odd considering their production numbers.

Thanks

Armand

Hello Armand and welcome to the club. I too have a 260z. Hopefully you will find what you are looking for in these threads. There is a lot of information that you can find on this site. Just type in the keyword(s) you are looking for in the search box of the specific thread type you think it might be under.

Good luck,

Ben

Thanks alot those links had the right info. One clarification question: Are the engine, emissions and larger bumbers the only reasons why the early 260 weighs more than the 240?

G'day Armand,

The increase in weight is also due to the 260z's have additional stiffness in the chassis due to a slight increase in the sheet metal thickness in certain areas.
