I heard it was because they're spending all thier money moving to Tennessee.

I hear ya, Preith! $ per track time is where it's at. Vintage racing is a little on the expensive side of the coin. Don't miss the Can Am reunion at Elkhart Lake. I'm still juggling the corporate books to pay for me to fly up to that one.

Chris

Hey Chris, let me know if you are going to fly up for that race. Is it the Brian Redman race? Anyway, I live about 2 1/2 hours from the track. Wouldn't take alot of convincing for me to go up to Road America for a day, LOL!! There are couple of other club members around here that we could round up. Grey Ghost lives right in town up there. RA even has a "Z Zone" to park at by turn 3. It would be a blast to see the Can Am cars racing again.

There is new life in the chance that Nissan will help us to get out to the Mitty.

Hector Cademartori, Les Cannaday and I have put together a few options for Nissan after talking to the head guys Nissan Motorsport about this yesterday. Believe it or not, they claimed that they had not even heard about this event!

So we are going to propose a few options to Nissan Corporate directly to see if they won't help some. more details to follow as this comes together (or apart) over the next couple of days.

Great news Ron! Keep us informed. I'd love to get some good pics of the event. I know my son would love a pic in your BRE racer.

I went to my club's award banquet last weekend and there's 3 guys who are seriously considering taking their cars (a GT3 510, 2 roadsters). They were giving me the riot act about not going. I'm sure I haven't heard the last of of it yet either. I'm not making any promises, but I just may attend...

It looks like they'll accept most liscences from other clubs, but it probably wouldn't hurt to run it past them first. Ouch, $475 entry fee.

They'd be idiots not to drop some money. Just agree to plaster a few banners around your cars that say "Nissan" and "NISMO" and we can hit a local truckstop to hire out a few "umbrella girls" for the day and we'll be good to go!

Money is a tricky thing, we have to sell value. Nissan sees that as advertising dollars spent. We agree, we would make a big deal about them helping to finance a truck to haul our cars out here.

I have my HSR West license so that should not be an issue for me, but the entry fee, the flight, hotel, food, plus stuff that our cars will need! Will cost me plenty, a couple thousand I figure. I am trying to bring both my Roadster and my Z. I know my 510 will not be ready by then...

It is rumored that the Georgia Z club was looking to put together a tent like what they used to do for the SCCA ARRC back in the day with a bunch of Datsun's under the tent, and then out on the track...That would be awesome!
