Warning! - WIAT can strike you

Are there any other females on here regularly who have the diZease?

On a rare instance, my boyfriend said to me recently "Once your car is at your house, you're going to spend more time with it then with me."

I replied "Yeah, probably!"

My silver car is in his garage right now, and I have to push him to work on it with me.... mostly because i am still a novice or need some man muscle to lift heavy parts or loosen some bolts. (at 108 lbs, i don't have much behind me) I am trying to do most of the work myself.

But just got my second Z (red) two days ago (YAY!) and it is at my house... time to go disassemble!

You're cracking me up. Not sure what I'd do if I had a girlfriend adddicted to Zs. I might have to throw a party or something and buy her a leather steering wheel wrap or a polished valve cover. Making up would be easy. "Honey, I got you that original fuse cover you were looking for." LOL

i like to say cid, (consider it done) so in this case wiat i wanted tbt (to be thorough) and put the hood up to see all the options for the task at hand.

task at hand; allow the car to understand it is in park and thus it has permission to start (shift linkage problem 84 merc 300 d).

task over, car starts; now driving and slowly accelerating to about 30 mpg and whamo. the hood lifts and there goes the windshield. see pic below.

Could also be diagnosed as "SS" or slippery slope syndrome. Just look at my signature....

Daddz, I believe you have a different strain of this disease, the WIAYAZ syndrome. This is an acute variation on the WIAT syndrome which manifests itself as an inate desire to overburden one's self with an excess of tasks to get to "WIAT". The name is translated as "Well I Aquired Yet Another Z"........

I am temporarily under the protection of Japanese relative immunity to the horrid disease. Here in a foreign country, without my best tools (basics only), no working space (my car gets parked in dirt and weed filled lot), and exhorbitantly high prices seems to have put it into remission. HOWEVER, once I get back, I know the bug will bite. I just hope that this bit of immunity I have gained after 5 years in Japan augments the small amount of immunity I built while in Okinawa.

Adam,

Too funny! I think you have hit the nail on the head! Actually I was trying to corner the market on paint code #611 but I have run out of space and time not too mention that other rare resource: capital. The other problem is I have a weakness for all cars especially the ones from Japan.
