Montoya_fan01's picture shows the progression of the keys shapes from left to right, going from round to rectangular to that "new" shape.

Now, I don't know for sure the progression of keyhead shapes, but I can tell you that my Unkle and I both bought complete OEM locksets from Courtesy Nissan about 2 years ago that were reported to be among the last 10 complete locksets in the USA. Both of the locksets that we purchased came with the "middle" (rectangular) style of Keyhead shown in post #2

Here are the two keys I got with my 10/70 240Z. My ignition key appears also to be Voss. As you can see, the door/hatch/glovebox key is badly worn. But luckily, the sticker inside the glovebox with the key numbers was still there! I took that number and the old key to a locksmith, they cut a new key from the code, not the old worn key. Works perfectly in all locks.

Surprisingly, my ignition key shows almost no wear by comparison, although it is obviously not new. The locksmith thought that it was a recent replacement though, with a key code stamped on the head.

Your old worn out keys can be decoded by a competent locksmith.

With the actual '' bitting '' numbers , the info can be put into a computerized code cutter . The end result ? You , the customer , walks away with a

factory perfect key that will perform like it should, unless your locks are shot.

Did you know a worn key can put thousands of ''miles'' of wear on your

sticking door locks and ignition cylinders ? Takes about 5 minutes and less

than $20.00 !! Get it done , it's a really cheap investment .
