Posted January 29, 200619 yr comment_153779 I'm just looking ahead trying to decide which direction I want to go with regard to wheel choice. Which do you prefer? Personally I sorta like the retro 280ZXT look but man those Panasports are sweet! Stock - this is what I have now. January 29, 200619 yr comment_153787 For me personally, I don't care for the ZXT wheels at all. Not on a 240Z. The Panasports are quite nice. But I actually like the slot mags you have now, I wish the ones on my car now were a matching set.But it's your car, go with whatever YOU like. January 29, 200619 yr comment_153789 I agree with Arne. If you polished up your slot mags they would shine like chrome! Hard to imagine I know... but it is possible. The Panasports DO look awesome though - give it definite character. January 29, 200619 yr comment_153815 I have Compomotive wheels on mine, They are British watanabe/panasport type and I love the way they look. The wheels you have now really would look good when polished. You could do it yourself or have a shop do it for about $250.00. My buddy has the zxt wheels in black on his ride (they look much better than gold) and they look great. It is a matter of taste and money really. January 29, 200619 yr comment_153821 I also lke the ZXT wheels. They'd look even better if you could somehow finish them with a treatment something like the Panasports. They'd be unique looking with a more gold look and a polished edge. From personal experience, I can telll you that polishing wheels is no easy task. I've done it. I did the 'Iron Cross' wheels that are on Proxlamus's Z. Lots of Panasports and slots around. Polished and refinished ZXT rims would be different. January 29, 200619 yr comment_153825 Since you have all three sets switch'em around every four months... Seriously, I love the look and shape of a Z so much just about anything would look good. Even the original hub cap looks good to me. But, if I had to pick just one from the three you have chosen and since I am currently in a resto mod phase...I would go with the 280ZX wheels. January 29, 200619 yr comment_153829 E, Don't you wish it was as easy to switch them on the car as it is on your PC? I really like the color accents inside the slots, like on my wife's Z. Polishing makes all the difference. Shine them up good and get them clear coated. Hope this picture comes trhu, 1st try at it. January 29, 200619 yr comment_153849 If it was me, I'd either stick with the slot mags or use straight silver-colored Panasports. If you lose the slot mags, I too am interested.Steve. January 29, 200619 yr comment_153863 No contest, you should stay with your current wheels...but then, I'm prejudiced. Mike 73 Z Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18702-wheel-comparison/#findComment-153863 Share on other sites

I always thought gold looked good with brown. The Panasports sure look nice but like you said, there are lots of them around.if u dont want ur wheels ill buy them off u. pm me. You'll be the first to know if I decide to part with them rather then polishing them.BTW, when you installed your bullet mirrors did you move the mounting locations forward slightly..3.5" or 4" mirrors? They were already on there when I bought the car. The P.O. did a poor job mounting them. The driver's side is moved rearward and the passenger side was moved forward. I haven't tried to figure out why this was done but I can say that I hate the fact that new holes were made....Since you have all three sets switch'em around every four months... Ok, I'l bite. You don't really think I have all three and changed them out for the picture do you? This was a simple Photochop job. Thanks guys.
