February 7, 200619 yr comment_154932 Have you tried MSA (zcarparts.com) or Victoria British (victoriabritish.com)? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18798-need-help-finds-fuel-sending-unit-for-my-280z/#findComment-154932 Share on other sites
February 7, 200619 yr comment_154941 You might also try the following url:http://www.nissanparts.cc/They seem to be able to get stuff for a Z that other dealerships don't know anything about...different database or something along those lines...webdawg1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18798-need-help-finds-fuel-sending-unit-for-my-280z/#findComment-154941 Share on other sites
February 7, 200619 yr comment_155013 I just went through this whole process- tried everyone, no luck. Finally was able to get a good used one from Roger at the Z Barn; www.zbarn.com.It seems that some parts are starting to become very scarce. I am looking all over for a 1978 280Z heater control valve that does not cost $260 and have to be shipped in from Japan- no luck yet. February 13, 200619 yr comment_155761 The only problem with nissanparts.cc is that once you make contact and actually begin the process of paying for and ordering the part they usually come back with it being NLA (no longer available); I mainly use that website to verify a correct part number. This may sound funny but I have had good luck with the local NAPA lately when trying to obtain a fuel pump relay that was NLA from Nissan. The cool thing was the part from NAPA was a Niles of Japan OEM supplier to Nissan. The only difference was in the finish of the relay case --flat black instead of being cadmium coated. As for the heater control valve I recently had to replace one in my father's '77 280Z and the local Nissan dealer was able to source one. The only strangeness occurs when you happen to own a factory non-A/C car such as the one pictured in my avatar. Apparently those are very rare and I was told when I bought mine a few years ago that I got the last one on the shelves in the U.S. and it had to be sourced from Ca. The factory A/C equipped ones are still available but there not exactly cheap either. I was in a hoarding mood a few years back and bought five of them at the same time. February 13, 200619 yr comment_155812 IIRC, because I did that job a couple of years ago, Parts America or Kragen as it is on the west coast only has the one for cars that have factory air. February 13, 200619 yr comment_155857 The heater valve at partsamerica has a choice of one with A/C and without A/C. As for the fuel sending unit I cant find one anywhere neither. February 14, 200619 yr comment_156016 Thanks for trying but that Parts America item is not the part I need. Motorsport Auto lists that piece as a Thermal Control Unit. The Heater Control Valve I need is mounted onto the heater housing and has a heavy copper wire that runs down to a piece with a coil that mounts next to the heater coil itself. Please keep the parts sources coming though- I really appreciate it! February 15, 200619 yr comment_156069 Sorry about that, but motorsport auto has the heater control valve for 91.00 that sounds a little better than 250.00.
