What with the recent increase in posts to Funnybone, I've been trying to think of a way to filter that sub-forum out. You see, I don't seem to have time to come to the site for jokes. I have no issues with those who do have time for jokes, so I don't want to impose any limits on the Funnybone, it's just not my thing.

The bookmark I use to get to the site is Posts - Last 24 Hrs. This link returns all threads with any activity in the past 24 hours. Since I visit several times a day, this means I never miss anything.

But this search doesn't sort by forum, so the Funnybone threads are all mixed in. And since the titles don't always indicate that the post is humor, I find myself opening threads that I would normally not waste my time with.

So what I'd like to do, is to figure a custom search that does what the Posts - Last 24 Hrs does, but only to forums and sub-forums that I choose. That way I can see what I want without any impact on those who are having fun in the Funnybone. Any ideas?

Arne, if you put your cursor on the title of the post, a pop-up will display with the first bit of content on the post. That way you can see if it is indeed something you want to read, and if so, click through, if not, move on to the next post. It a great feature and I just wish other forums I visited had this feature!

Mike,

Seperating the treads by section on the front page would help people like Arne who would like to know whats going on in a cetain section. That would be kind of cool to have the front page seperated. But I like the fact that you have the most recent posts listed on the front page. Makes looking at the site alot easier. I just skip over the threads I don't have intrest in.

John

it's already easy to tell which forum a thread is in (from the "Home" page, or the "Posts - Last 24 Hours", etc page), without opening the thread.

if people can't be bothered to look for the info which is already displayed, what makes anyone think they would bother to do anything else to "protect" themselves?
