Installing 15x8" with 225/50 tyres

260z

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of ordering a set off COmpomotive ML wheels/rims.

Sizes:

15x8 -6 front (Does it fit under stock fender)

15x8 -12 rear

Tyres would be 225/50 all around.

I do have to flare the car for sure... BUT:

Do I have to cut also front fenders under the flare?

Which parts of chassis-fenders are the FRONT tyres going to touch?

Is this going to radically shorten the life of my wheel bearings?

Thanks in advance, Otso

i had a set of 8-15 compomotives with i think 235-55-15 so as to keep the speedo reading the same on my 260,wot you have to be carefull of is when you reverse on full lock,it can catch the edge of the wing,(fender)also the steering will be a lot heavier as the tyres wear, back should be no problem,i changed to a 7-16,much better ride and also, here in england there aint as much trye choice in a 15inch

Can I assume you're running on stock springs and not coil-overs? If stock you will have to flare the rears I believe but can just roll the rear lip if you have coil-overs. I'm running 16-8s on my 240 with 225X45 in front and 245X45 in the rear. The fronts are set for 2.75 neg camber and 2 in the rear. I have rolled the lip and built a custom mini-flare. Without the neg camber the rears wouldn't fit without cutting out some of the wheel well/rear qtr panel.

As gnosez mentioned with coil-overs you can fit 8" wide wheels with 245/45under the stock fenders without flaring just a lip roll (my old setup). I am now running 17x9.5" and 255/40-17 on all corners and just needed to flare the rear (with negative camber because I also autocross it).
