Hey Arne, Does this mean you're gonna put in a "Period" CB radio also?

Breaker, Breaker 19 ...You got your ears on? What's your 20?ROFL

When I was in high school, that pioneer was "THE" unit to have in your party wagon! I believe I heard the first broadcast of "Frampton Comes Alive" on that very unit, whilst skipping 4th period english lit.

I hear ya there Victor! I had a Pioneer Superturner 8-Track in my Mustang. Remember those, they had the big dial on the left. Very cool in the day. Mine was cranked with Boston's "Foreplay/Longtime" and of course every other song on that tape. Their first album is the greatest record of all time in my book.

Ooh! I remember that one, it was a big underdash mount with FM and 8 track! Haven't seen one of those in decades!

Boston's self-titled was the only good stuff they did. Had it on cassette, and my son now has it on CD.

The stuff I remember as road music in the seventies were things like the Doobies What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits, Deep Purple Machine Head, Dark Side of the Moon, Hotel California, etc. Lots of B.T. O., early Elton John, CCR, Jethro Tull, Zeppelin, and Three Dog Night.

Yes Arne, excellent Z cruisin' music. Didn't Deep Purple do "Highway Star"? Another classic, a little before my time, but none the less a great car song.

I believe my 72 240Z came with only one speaker. (Did all the early 240Z's come with just one speaker???) Kinda hard to rock out with a mono rather than a stereo, so to speak.

Vicky

Yup, "Highway Star" was on Machine Head.

Mine also only has one speaker, but it looks like I can mount a second in the same spot on the opposite side. Not cuttin' no holes in my door panels!

Whats up gang, I have the underdash supertuner that came out of my car. I had it my first Z since 77. Its the cassett version of the 8 track you guys are talking about(big round dial) If anyone is interested you can have it. Works fine but you have to mount it in glove box, you know, the equalizer had to go under the dash!!! Wonder if my old road trip tapes are still around? Spent alot of nights not studying and making tapes!!! What memories

Are you referring to one of these guys? Found them both on on eBay.

If the cassette player won't play tapes, maybe you could still put in one of those audio input adapters to hook up a separate tape player (like a walkman) or an MP3 player, or a CD player.
