owenk Posted June 9, 2002 Share #1 Posted June 9, 2002 I just got my 71 240 and it needs new struts. I have read all the threads on here and want to know if anyone has used the Gas Ryder struts from Autozone. The reason I ask is two fold 1. I am looking at making it a standard street car. 2. The Gas Ryder struts are only $24.99 for front and $29.99 for the rear. If anyone has any experience with these struts on a Z or other car I would like to know what you think of them. kmack Posted June 9, 2002 Share #2 Posted June 9, 2002 I just finished rebuilding my car and have those strut cartridges in mine. But, as I've only really driven the car once so far, it's hard to tell how well things will hold up. So far it rides very nice. Not harsh and not overly soft either.I have used that brand of shocks on 2 Explorers so far and have had no complaints. If you're trying to stay on a budget and only going for a street ride, then go for it.
Zvoiture Posted June 9, 2002 Share #3 Posted June 9, 2002 I was very tempted to try the cartriges NAPA sells (Monroe) just to see how they compare to the Tokico non's. Again, only $30 bucks or so. Haven't done it yet though....steve77 (1 1/2" of travel)
