Posted February 21, 200619 yr comment_156786 I just got the March Street Machine and low and behold, the expression session is a Z with the top cut and a big V8, as in a different approach on Shelby's Cobra, ie stuffing a big engine into a little car. Nothing new there, but one thing mentiones in the write up if stuffing a Supra turbo independent suspension under the rear because it goes really close to bolting up. First I heard of this. Anyone else read it yet??? I'll see if I can scan the article. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18975-street-machines-zedbra/ Share on other sites

February 21, 200619 yr comment_156803 Sound like its not a real car, just one of their theory exercises they do, with an artists drawing of waht it would look like.Would like to see the scans. For a real 240Z with a chopped roof and a V8 go visit the swedish guys site who is actually doing it.I posted a link about it here somewhere. try searching for sweden. It not mull's car its another guy. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18975-street-machines-zedbra/#findComment-156803 Share on other sites
February 21, 200619 yr comment_156826 A scan of the article would be good. I'd dispute that the Supra rear suspension would be anywhere near bolt up though. I looked at the possibility of using the later double wishbone Supra rear end, it may well fit if you want a w-i-d-e track at the rear but new body mounts would have to be made so it would have points to bolt up to. Quite doable but a fair bit of structural work involved. February 23, 200619 yr comment_157023 October 1972 Australia. 302/351 Ford powered Fibreglass kit car...but most were sold turnkey. I've included a pic of the coupe, but 75% sold were roadsters. May 8, 200618 yr comment_166586 mentiones in the write up if stuffing a Supra turbo independent suspension under the rear because it goes really close to bolting up. First I heard of this. Anyone else read it yet??? I'll see if I can scan the article. i found this interesting (and thought it might be a cheap way to get an LSD, install coilovers and have more common wheels availible to me) and after not being able to find anything on it i emailed street machine, who gave me a number for otomoto and told me to speek to a certain person there, and after delaying it for quite a bit i decided i may as well call them! i just got off the phone and the person said they'd never heard of such a conversion either and said he doesn't see how it could/would work without having to cut out a fair bit of the body to fit the fat supra bits in there, and also said a supra LSD is expensive, if anything change it to s13 stuff i've replied to street machine to see if they just made this up then , hopefully we'll get an answer Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/18975-street-machines-zedbra/#findComment-166586 Share on other sites

May 8, 200618 yr comment_166616 Yeah sound like they just made it up to me. There was a guy that was in Fast fours and rotaries that put a r33 skyline rear end in a 240Z.
