Posted February 26, 200619 yr comment_157316 I whipped up this chart to see what kind of speeds my car might be capable of. Definitely less than 30 seconds, I would think. It goes up to 60 seconds.Drag racing Speed Chart.xls Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19031-drag-racing-conversion-chart/ Share on other sites
February 26, 200619 yr comment_157318 How does that chart show what a particular car would be capable of? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19031-drag-racing-conversion-chart/#findComment-157318 Share on other sites
February 26, 200619 yr Author comment_157319 It's just a simple chart that show you the calculated speed for a certain elapsed time. It doesn't try to predict what e.t. your car might get. Like the title says, it a conversion chart, not a prediction chart. Please don't try to read anything into what was said. February 26, 200619 yr Author comment_157320 Go out and measure your time for a quarter mile and look it up on the chart. You might select a time or speed to shoot for. You can also change the distance too see how that would come out ( like a mile or 60 ft., instead of a quarter-mile). February 27, 200619 yr comment_157337 I was just going by what you said in your initial post. Not trying to read anything into it at all. Too many factors involved. Like where the car makes it's hp, torque, driving skill, etc. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19031-drag-racing-conversion-chart/#findComment-157337 Share on other sites
February 27, 200619 yr Author comment_157338 There is a relationship to acceleration & horsepower, so maybe you could back-calculate to find the acceleration value, ten get your E.T. from there. But still too many other things involved. Just getting an accurate horseower value is tough.
