...a common problem with the Z's are burnt/melted fuseboxes, and all the places I've seen that carry the OEM fusebox or a replacement like the bladed type fusebox that MSA sells go for insane amounts of money. If we, as Z car fanatics, can make wiring harnesses and alternator plug adapters, then someone should try to find a way to reproduce the fusebox like MSA sells, but for alot cheaper. I'm sure that if someone were to make one, and sell it for around $100 as opposed to MSA's outrageous $199, they'd make a killing.

Just an idea, I'd make it work, but don't have the resources to do so!

We talked about replacement harnesses in several threads over a year ago, the pieces are out there, Ultimately I am using a blade style fusebox and circuit breakers(in leu of fuses) for mine.

Making the new fuse box(using fuses instead of circuit breakers) probably wouldn't use but $20-30 of materials. Add about $30-40 for circuit breakers.

Centech makes a compact mini fuse panel for the early Chevys. I bought one with the intention of incorporating it into my 71 240Z. Check it out at http://www.centechwire.com/catalog/panels/pdp3.shtml and note the reasonable price of only $45. As is stated, you can also expand on it by adding another ATO or mini fuse block over by the passenger side relays for additional circuits.This is a top quality piece! NO cheap plastic. It will fit right where the original fuse panel sits with a little effort. I'm going to attempt to use the original pigtail so it is a plug-n-play unit.

I *LIKE* that idea!! Wipe off the writing with some acetone then have some new labels made up. Then clear coat over the labels to keep them that way. The extra fuse on the bottom could be for fog/driving lights.

I'd use the extra fuse for the rear defroster, and get rid of the inline fuse for that device.

Actually I showed the wife the fusebox in question, She liked the idea of adding the custom pigtail and drilling a hole in the upper center for mounting to the OEM hole.
