March 3, 200619 yr comment_157911 Sorry to hear of your misfortune, however; keep in mind that FAULT is not always 100% on one party. It is often assigned to both, or multiple parties.Unfortunately this looks one of those cases IMO. Get a copy of the Accident Report then if necessary, you can choose to fight whatever determination is made in court. March 3, 200619 yr comment_157974 Bummer dude! I hate to think of what I might do if someone molested my Z like that! Good luck getting it back together. Perhaps it's time to consider a gnose conversion? March 3, 200619 yr Author comment_157980 thank you so much for the heartfelt concern. After evaluating the damage, I've concluded I need a new hood, new headlight buckets for both sides, new bumper, new driver's side fender, and I need to heat up the metal that the bumper attaches to on the driver's side, that bolts onto the body (kind of hard to explain) and pound it back into place. What happened was the impact shoved the bumper attachment bracket backwards, which in return creased the metal outwards (where the headlight bucket was) and then pressed the radiator inwards. I honestly believe a little bit of heat from my torch and a hammer will fix it. The radiator is a little messed up, but I think I can have it soldered and have the fins fixed at a reputable radiator shop I've dealt with before for around $40.I have another Z fanatic who has offered me a good hood and headlight buckets for either free or next to nothing (I think they are free, but I have to ask) which will help out with fixing the Z. March 3, 200619 yr comment_157982 Jeremy,I am truly sorry to see the damage done to your Z, and I agree that the person passing on the right in a parking zone should be more careful, but it sounds as if there was no stop sign at this intersection, and it is the responsibility of the person making the left turn to yeild to oncoming traffic. Generally the cop is going to write up the one doing the hitting as the person at fault. In this case it was you. In reality, each of the three drivers shares some of the fault, but in California, only one person gets the blame. March 3, 200619 yr comment_157983 .. but in California, only one person gets the blame.I'm not sure if anything has changed in the last few years, but I was involved in an accident in 1998, and the CA Highway Patrol assigned fault (by percentage) to myself and to the driver of the other car.EDIT: I just found the accident report and it was in 1997, and Percentages were not used, but two of the three parties (each in separate vehicles) involved were listed as "causes" of the accident for being in violation of laws.
