240znz Posted March 3, 2006 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2006 As I am in the throws of rebuilding my car, what are your thougths about fitting a rollover cage behind the seats.Has anyone done this?I'm thinking that I may want to remove it when I'm not on the track, so idea about quick removal would be good.I don't want a full cage as I will only be taking it out in speed and trial events. No car to car racing as I am paranoid about smashing it to bits.Maybe a rollover hoop that has braces back to the rear strut towers?
John Coffey Posted March 3, 2006 Share #2 Posted March 3, 2006 I'm thinking that I may want to remove it when I'm not on the track, so idea about quick removal would be good.I suggest you have a permanent roll bar installed, not a removable roll cage. A roll bar has a main hoop behind the seats with two rear braces going to the strut towers and a diagonal brace within the main hoop.
TomoHawk Posted March 3, 2006 Share #3 Posted March 3, 2006 With the roll bar behind the seats, you'll have no problems gettin ing & out, as opposed to a 6-point rollbar.
speedyblue Posted March 3, 2006 Share #4 Posted March 3, 2006 Check 260DET's gallery. I like his. Doesn't block rear vision. Cops like ticketing cars for obstructed vision over here.
