Fuel filler door fix

Anyone have any experience "reattaching" a fuel filler door to it's hinge? I have a '77 Z and made the mistake of backing into the filler door while I was filling the tank which slightly pulled the door away from the hinge. When I open the door now I have to slide my hand up against the inside part of the hinge to push it open instead of pulling the door open.

Thanks,

Bob

The last Z I bought had a bit of separation of the fuel door from it's hinge. I cleaned the area as best I could and mixed up some 2 part epoxy from the hardware store, smeared it in between the hinge and door and then lightly clamped it back together with a C clamp overnight (using small blocks of wood to protect the metal parts from the clamp). Works good so far, but I should have used a bit less epoxy as there is a visable bead of epoxy showing around the edge of the hinge. (can't see it with the door closed, but I see it when I fill up though no one else would)
