Rear Window

I have been told that my rear window defroster is a bad circuit and needs to be replaced. What has everyone else been doing about this problem? Does anyone else have this problem? It's a 72.

Looks like there is a kit available to repair small "breaks" in the lines

I did a simple search and several old threads came up on this topic
