Where to hide antenna?

Ok, so I am looking for suggestions and experince on hiding an antenna inside my Z. I have the following antenna:

I went ahead and closed up my antenna hole (it's much better looking and means I don't need to find an expensive replacement antenna).

My thought was the area right next to the windshied on the passanger side, but I don't know if there will be enough room. The antenna is 2 feet long and 1/2" thick. I also thought about under the headliner, but I am worried about the reception.

Anyone out there mounted something like this before?

I mounted two wire ones form Radio Shack inside the top front and rear window seals(before the glass was put in), they worked ok, but a signal booster made them great. I want to say the antennas I used were supplied with the wire already mounted to clear tape, and were made for taping to the upper area of the front glass. I just peeled the tape off, cleaned the wire with laquer thinner, and glued it in the glass channel of the weatherstrip before installing the glass.

theres lots of empty space up under the dashboard. hard to get to though. edit: unless of course you have your car dissasembled.

Yeah the problem with internal antenna's is that the signal gets shielded a bit by the metal chassis. so somewhere close to a glass window would be good.

Kinda hard to tell in the photo, but the dash is off, I am replacing the lights for the instriments with red LED bulbs as the soft green wasn't doing it for me when I drove it at night. I will look for a nice place to hide in underneath there. Thanks for the help.

I've often thought of using the windshield antenna for mine. Interesting idea of running it in the window channel.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I see you mentioned Red LED lights in the dash. How are you going about this? What kind of light holders are you using? How many are needed for each gauge? The reason I'm asking this, is because I just did the white face gauge overlay in my 77 and had thought of using the blue LED's. However, the green lights still let me see my gauges pretty good.

I sourced my LED bulbs from this place: http://autolumination.com/otherleds.htm

I just got them in yesterday and I will be trying to install them this week. They are almost a perfect fit (a little bigger than stock ones) I am refering to the Ba9s bulbs.

There is a little bit of information on this forum about changing out the bulbs, and a more over at hybridz.org. I will post more tips once I have finished the job.
