March 20, 200619 yr comment_160087 Yes and no. The early 260 strut tubes are the smaller diameter like the 240 but the later 260's are the larger diameter like the 280's. Sorry I do not know the cut off dates or part numbers. March 20, 200619 yr comment_160090 For the North American market...dunno bout anywhere else...If the 260z has the thin bumpers, and front turn signals in the lower cowl, then yes they will interchange. March 20, 200619 yr comment_160103 From something I saw in a different thread, I believe blue_leaf is in Australia. I don't know when (or if?) the strut tubes changed for the Oz market. March 21, 200619 yr Author comment_160244 I am talking about the cartridge inserts. As far as I know the rear struts diameter has been changed for the 260z compared to 240z, but could someone advise me the part numbers? Also does anyone know if the front ones changed? And yes I am in Australia. March 21, 200619 yr comment_160246 Struts do change in production for S30 versions in the Australian market. If you are after constructive information. You need to go back to basics like what you are driving / age type maybe the vin to work out an application date. This will allow someone to look at the books or catalogues and supply you with workable feedback. Not telling you to suck eggs just trying to assist with information flow.cheersSteve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19286-are-the-shocks-interchangable-between-the-240z-and-260z/#findComment-160246 Share on other sites
March 21, 200619 yr comment_160283 260z shocks wont fit in 240z tubes, but 240z shocks will fit n 260z tubes as long as you use the correct gland nut for the strut/shock. If you are after a cheap set the ac delco ones that sell on ebay for around $60 to $80 will fit either, as they come with gland nuts to fit 240z struts and 260z struts. March 22, 200619 yr comment_160398 I think Mr Camouflage has probably identified the largest change for you this occurred AUG/73. Be aware that not all advertised strut inserts will just drop in and do the job, some will frustrate, some wont go at all, and some will go with engineering changes.Good Luckfor infoThere are five different listed front tube combinations for 240Z and two different listed front tubes for 260z.There are four different listed rear tubes for 240Z and two different listed tubes for 260z.suppliers can mess it up real well so stick with good known product from genuine suppliers.cheersSteve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19286-are-the-shocks-interchangable-between-the-240z-and-260z/#findComment-160398 Share on other sites
