I have a 79 280zx , and am changing from FI to triple weber 40 dcoe's setup. I have a motorsport header, and 2.5 in. custom exhaust system with magnaflow muffler, and am planning the following mods: Fidanza aluminum flywheel, act hdss clutch, motorsport stage 2 cam kit, carter fuel pump. I'm not sure which distributor, and electronic ignition I should buy. I was thinking either mallory or msd, does anyone have any suggestions on which one to buy? Any help would be appreciated. THANKS

Gee, here you have a '79 ZX distributor and you're thinking of getting rid of it? Many of the 240/260/280Z people on this site are hunting for that very unit!

Seriously, for what you are describing, the distributor you have now is probably fine. If you want a nice hot spark, you could piggy-back something like an MSD 6A. Probably no real benefit to replacing the distributor itself unless it's worn out.

I am one of the guys looking for a zx dizzy. I agree with Arne.

I have two parts cars , one '79 and one '80. they both have the stock distributor on them. I'd be interested in selling the distributors. Let me know if your interrested. THANKS, Tim
