I would like to get some feedback regarding wheels and tires. I have an original 73' 240 that is in beautiful "unrestored" condition (1 repaint, in the 80's sometime) Here is my "dilema", do I keep the stock hubcaps, which I am somewhat afraid of getting damaged, due to what seems to be a high replacement cost, or do I take them off and store them away and buy a set of Rewinds? I love the look of the Konig's (and the price), but at the same time, you just do not see a lot of Z's rolling with stock hubcaps. If I do decide to go with the Rewinds, do the 15"ers look that much better then the 14"ers? Seems the 14" wheel/tire package would cost about $300.00 less but I think it may look better with 15" wheels. What do you think? BTW, I bought this car last year from a guy named Joe Heine. The guy sure seemed to have babied the car and really took good care of it! Any feedback on it's history if you knew of it? Hope to meet some of you at the MSA show.

Some thoughts:

1.) There are apparently problems with the Rewind center caps fitting on the front of 240Zs.

2.) Whether the 15" look "better" than the 14" is up to you. Myself, I prefer the taller sidewall look of the 14" - looks more "correct" to me.

3.) Not much available in 14" real performance tires these days.

I also have 2 other options, both 14". I have a set of Shelby Vipers I was planning to put on my Roadster but now I'm having second thoughts, and a set of Enkei 92's that are currently on a 1200. If I do decide to go with one of these, I would imagine a silver/pewter color would go best with an orange car.

G'Day Mark,

One thing is for certain mate, ....... if it was me, I'd look around for hubcaps that would fit and look good, remove the stock caps, place them in bubble wrap and store them in a nice, dry, cool, SAFE place where no low down

*&%*$#@*&^% can steal them.

A lady I know left her 240 parked in the main street and, ... when she returned to the car, ..... found that every badge, name plate and radio antennae had been ripped, levered or pried off, leaving a hell of a mess.

Trust NOBODY !!!!!!.

Rick.
