I'm in the market for a set of seats for my 240zt. this car is my fun toy I'm not racing or auto crossing with just a driver. What I'm looking for recommendations of a good seat in the $ 400.00 price range. Anyone with experience with one of these seat set could you please give opinion and what brand you have.

Thanks

I am using the MOMO Street Racer series, Sparco makes a very similar seat....I think both are now available in leather if that is your fancy. However I did purchase my seats from a speed shop in Pordenone, Italia, paid about half what they go for in the states.

I prefer ultrashield race seats in my race cars. They are size specific because of the large bolsters on the sides...They are very light and can be attached to the stock mounting locations for a street car. In our race cars it is necessary to attach them to a roll bar.

Hi dat240z71

If your not auto-Xing nor racing - then a Sports Seat might not be the best choice, the side bolsters on the Sports Seats can be a bit bothersome while getting in/out of the car on a daily basis, and as Ron mentioned seats designed to hold you firmly in place for Sport - can be a bit restrictive on longer highway trips.

Some of the manufacturers produce models with designs that provide additional body support for Grand Touring, but allow more adjustability and movement. They usually have lower side bolsters to allow easier egress and exit.

Personally, a friend gave me a set of Acura Integra seats out of a then new 98 model. They fit in the 240-Z almost perfectly and provide far greater comfort for my old body... a big plus for me is that they have removable head restraints.. meaning they have lower backs that I can see around easily.

I went ahead and bought the Kirkey aluminum Intermediate Road Race Seat

it is good looking. I spent the extra $50 and got the air knit cover for it, I called in my measurements for it about a week and a half ago, so hopefully it will be here in 2 or 3 weeks!!! can't wait to get it, i'll let you guys know how it fits and feels when it gets here!!!

  • 1 month later...
and with a little work, 350z seats fit nicely also. They are pretty much the same width, height and seat cushion height as a 240z seat, but take a little work to install.

Can you give us some details on what had to be done to get them to fit?

Thanks,

Marty
