gogriz91 Posted April 1, 2006 Share #1 Posted April 1, 2006 Not the best example I've seen before but they seem like a good deal.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-WATANABE-14-RIMS-DATSUN-510-240Z-AE86_W0QQitemZ8039002675QQcategoryZ43954QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Arne Posted April 1, 2006 Share #2 Posted April 1, 2006 That set has been posted there since mid-February. The seller has turned down or ignored four offers so far. Apparently most people feel like I do - there a bit too rough for the price. Just my opinion, of course.
Virto Posted April 1, 2006 Share #3 Posted April 1, 2006 They look alright til you see the one with that big old bite out of it.Maybe he should shine them up, or at least dust them and post those pics instead. You'd think you'd want to show something at it's best to sell it.
gogriz91 Posted April 1, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted April 1, 2006 I wonder if it would be worth it to buy the set to act as spares for an existing set you might already have?
=Enigma= Posted April 2, 2006 Share #5 Posted April 2, 2006 Look closely at the one in the upper left hand corner. It looks like more than the lip is bent. I guess that's what happens when you run over a curb at speec.....
v12horse Posted April 2, 2006 Share #6 Posted April 2, 2006 They are nice wheels, but they are not really that desirable of a size and offset for a Z. The 14 by 6.5 is okay, but +19mm. That is too positive for my taste on that narrow of a wheel. I don't think it is a good deal for those wheels because you will be sinking at least 400USD in them to restore them, then you have to get lugnuts. This is just my opinion, but the one piece Watanabe wheels look better on Z's. These would be better for a 240sx or AE86. -Benp.s. Keep looking Pete. You will find a nicer set. 7240z Posted April 2, 2006 Share #7 Posted April 2, 2006 Too expensive for the size and state they are in. I just spent 10,000 pesos (roughly $200) just restoring my Rs-8's but now they look brand new! If you do get them, you'll probably be spending double the costs just restoring them. Not a really good buy if you asked me. I'm pretty sure you can find other Watanabes for the same price or a bit higher but with a larger rim size and far better conditions than the ebay item. You got that part right v12 horse. Victor Laury said "They were mainly developed and marketed for the Silvia/180SX/240sx line." but they do look good on a Z...trust me just think of these rims as banana type rims with a little more...oomph! hey sakijo! don't they look familiar? hehehe! Alfadog Posted April 2, 2006 Share #8 Posted April 2, 2006 Yeah got to agree with Ben. Similar, but not the kind of wheels that really suit the Z IMO.

gogriz91 Posted April 3, 2006 Author Share #10 Posted April 3, 2006 I've pretty much decided I'll stick to Konig's unless I find an ncredible deal on Wats and get promoted this Fall. You rarely see Wats on EBay though in any condition. I'm not sure I could own a set anyway, if they were to get scratched or damaged the thought of what it would take to repair or replace them would drive me nuts.
