August 27, 200618 yr comment_180133 My 6/70 also follows the early picture for 69/70 cars. But by 12746 (10/70) they changed. Mine are the later style. August 30, 200618 yr comment_180398 Hello, Chris,I did not know the pattern of strut trim.I will check my 03/70 blue interior.Mine is not replaced, original trim since roll out from the factory.Nowadays it starts crack itself little bit. Today I would like to discuss about inside mirror,I think there are three stage. Stage 1/ with a red dot for day driving and a beautiful "tapered long leg" for the bracket. And you can see "EVER WING" on the face. However, this mirror was manufactured by "IKI" (you can see this inside of hub caps and some other parts) we can veryfy this in the japanese service builltein. Just as a refference, http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8383&highlight=red+dot+mirror Stage 2/ with a sun and a star simbol for day and night, also a beautiful "tapered long leg"And also you can see "EVER WING" on the face. AS I said before,Mar/1970 owners manual instructed turn a sun mark for day driving, according to this manual,my 03/70 car will have Stage 2 mirror. But as usual, there must be time difference. My car could have a red dot? If we can gather data as much as we can,we will reach the answer soon. Stage 3/ with a sun and a star simbol and a "very short leg" for the bracket which we now can buy new from Nissan and many surpliers. You can see "IKI" on the face. So,some one said "red dot club" I like that, red dot club will be only for a 1969 build car. But how about "tapered long leg club",I think that club will be for 1970 to early 1971 car. I have seen a mid 1971 car(with a choke knob and a blank plate for a throttle knob/but non-airvent grilles for a rear hatch) has "tapered long leg" I do not know when "very short leg" mirror came out.I have only confirmed NOV 1971 240Z instaled "very short leg" from the factory press photo. Thank you, kats P.S. Courtesy Mr.moby**** for the left photo/Mr.Watanabe for the middle photo. The right one is mine. August 30, 200618 yr comment_180420 Well kats, HLS30-12746 (10/70) has the "tapered long leg" mirror. (No red dot, of course.) But HLS30-27602 (4/71) has the short leg mirror. So the change was apparently between those dates. August 30, 200618 yr comment_180434 Hi Kats! I do not think we will find many members of the "red dot" club. Red dot is so very very rare. Even I am not a member! Here is original vinyl from 27th. When I took this picture, I was more concerned with the sewing seam as I noticed a difference between the original and the replacement vinyl I bought. The seam for original is folded top over side and sewn on top. My replacement vinyl is folded side over top and sewn side. See my diagram. August 31, 200618 yr comment_180519 Thank you Arne, 04/71 will be the key, seems to me that date will be the last for "long leg"? More details about the trim! Chris, great found! About a red dot,I found another Japanese car "ISUZU Bellett" used red dot mirror.I saw 3 Bellett have red dot mirror today but the bracket is completely different.Does the car exist in the U.S. ? kats Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19494-original-interiors-of-series-1-cars/?&page=6#findComment-180519 Share on other sites

Isuzu had no market presence at all in the US until General Motors re-badged their compact pickup as the Chevrolet LUV in 1972.
