August 19, 200618 yr comment_179169 Hi Guys:I may have introduced some confusion when I said "right to left"... I really should have said A, B, of C Left To Right.... da....Anyway Bill - I'll note your vote for the one on the Left..Z-137... when you said "A" did you mean the one on the far left as well? - or did you really follow my original Post and label the one on the far right as "A"?.Ah the 70's.... ashtrays and lighters in all cars..."your free to smoke'em of you got em"...later, Carl B. August 22, 200618 yr comment_179541 JFYI - My current 71, manufacture 2/71, has the round chrome coat hangers. My first '71 (5/71) had the black plastic coat hangers and both have/had the lighter on the left. Neither have/had screws in the door panels. One thing I have never seen until my current Z is a passenger side rearview door mirror that matches the factory drivers side mirror. -BJ- Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19494-original-interiors-of-series-1-cars/?&page=5#findComment-179541 Share on other sites
August 22, 200618 yr comment_179546 Would you mind posting pictures of your mirrors, more often than not(ALWAYS) the matching mirrors have turned out to be the same mirror with the flag rotated. The passenger side mirror is really a manipulated drivers side mirror.I have looked and conversed with everyone at Nissan USA that would return a phone call, letter, fax. or a shout in the parking lot, and never found even a part number for one-unless you aren't talking aout the ones on this and many other threads I have jumped into:http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17716&highlight=usa+membersThanks,Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19494-original-interiors-of-series-1-cars/?&page=5#findComment-179546 Share on other sites

August 25, 200618 yr comment_179908 Here are photos of the mirrors on my car. I haven't found part numbers either in my searches. -BJ-Notice the differing angle of the main stalk from side to side. I believe that the one on the right side is a left side mirror with the mirror head swiveled around. August 25, 200618 yr comment_179964 Here is something I was only slightly aware of, but did not give much thought to until I found this. What are your comments? I believe this is correct.Oh my, I had no idea. I wonder which style #12746 has? I'll have to check it when I get home. I was planning to save the vinyl from #27602 for spares, but if the pattern is different... August 25, 200618 yr Author comment_179966 Hey Chris,It appears to be the same vinyl pattern, just oriented differently when cutt and sewn together. Do you think that this orientation was intentional when fabricated, or, just random use of the material when pieces were cutt? Did 26th and 27th have any vinyl on these housings? This may be a little over the top when considering correctness for a total restoration.I'd be interested in your findings to come, and opinion as to correctness. August 26, 200618 yr comment_179971 Yea, isn't that something? I had heard from people like Carl that the pattern was oriented differently, but this is the first picture I have seen comparing the two and it causes me to not only look at the new stuff I have, but check to see what 27th has as she is possibly more original than 26th. I replaced the vinyl in 26th in 1990 without paying attention and then I bought a new vinyl set for her restoration now. I have to do some research. I do know that the pattern orientation is not random. It is consistant from car to car. And do I think this is "over the top"? No. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19494-original-interiors-of-series-1-cars/?&page=5#findComment-179971 Share on other sites
