Yeah they are pretty similar in design style. Some of the other Nissans of the era are similar too. Here are some pictures of an American one (note the fabulous bumpers) that was on eBay in October 2004

Very much an oddball car, but I think they are great. Quite futiuristic from some angles... and from others, well....

oh please don't use the u.s. version (the light blue in pics)

the s10 silvia was called a 200sx here in the states, and was severely uglified with by the nixon bumpers

the car was powered by an l-series 4cyl. and had a live rear axle

more mechanical parts shared with the a10 series

but the styling definitely an evolution of the c110 coupe

Interesting ... got some pretty MEAN flared guards too. Kind of 944 style. I wonder what kind of suspension setup they use and if they're similar to anything else. Couldn't be too easy a task to do it up... :|

The cherry had a bit of C110 style too. Check out the shape of the side rear windows.

They certainly were a little experimental (in terms of design) back then
