If there was a fire in the engine bay (having a loose battery is the number one cause) the last place I'd want my extinguisher was under the hood next to the fuel lines.

Let's see, open the hood and let in more oxygen, cut to flames, now cut to man trying to get extinguisher off of mount without getting burnt......

I've been to this guys shop last year to look at an MGB he has had listed for sale for at least 6 years (if not longer). About every 6 months or so he lists the MGB on eBay now with a $30K reserve in order to advertise his shop, and appears to be doing the same with this 240Z. He seems to prefer the "I want it now and don't really care what it costs" crowd based on the prices he is asking for his cars, and lack of negotiation on same. But hey, if he can get someone to pay $30K for a car thats worth $12 to 15K, good for him! :stupid: I would be surprised to see this one actually hit the reserve on eBay.

Now THAT'S good info. Pretty ingenious, IMO, and explains why a lot of his posting deals with pics of his shop and his resto process...

Enigma,

There's nothing wrong with discussing cars we see. Happens all the time. No disparaging comments have been made, and it's fair to critique what we see available on the marketplace. I would not participate in over-judgmentalism, personal attack, heated criticism, etc. and I'm sure no one else would either.

$0.02,

The Z appears to be a really nice and well done car......as long as you can live with the visual!!? It's probably worth more than the reserve but , anyone who has redone a Z can tell you you will not recoupe what you have invested. For me personnally, I'd repaint the sucker and put some better suspension, brakes, tires, and wheels.....and a 5 speed! The last time I saw green flames was along time ago at Christmas, when someone through some gift wrap in the fireplace and whala......green flames! Nice to look at in the fireplace but, not on a Z car!!! Just one man's opinion.
