April 15, 200618 yr comment_163604 before you start buying a replacement tach make sure you are buying the correct one for your car. There are 2 tachs in 240Zs. 3 wire, and 4 wire. Which is yours? April 17, 200618 yr Author comment_163912 Alright. Now that ya got me concerned. What is the difference in the 3-4 wire tachs? My current dead soldier has four light bulb inputs and is connected to a 4 wire harness. However, it appears the two white wires (stripped red and black) are connected to the same area on the back of the tach. Sorry for the stupidity, but this is my first Z in 20 years and I am on a severe learing curve.
