Ignition Problem, NEED HELP!

Whenever I try to start the car the engine turns over, but doesn't start. Come to find out it's not getting spark. It had been converted to an electronic ignition with a crane cams 700 module. I found another 700 module in a car I had for parts and tried to replace the first one with it. After replacing it, I turn the engine over and over, and I get one spark after I stop turning the key. When I put the old module back in, I don't get any spark at all. A guy that was helping me said he thinks it is still the module. But after seeing the one spark it makes me think that it is something else. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME, IT'S STRESSING ME OUT. haha BTW it's a 1972 240z

You get spark when you release the key? Sounds like it might be something wrong in the wiring to the coil. The stock 240Z wiring sends power to the coil through different circuits in the 'Start' (straight to the coil) and 'Run' (through the ballast resistor) positions. You may be getting power to the coil in 'Run' but not in 'Start'.

So I'd start by verifying all the wiring between the ignition switch and coil.
