Got to hybrydz and do a search for NAPABILL posts. very interesting and he talks about the stumble and how to correct it and set the webbers. Still havent played with the timming on mine, currentlly set at 20 BTDC. April 27, 200618 yr Author comment_165181 Carl, that explains the blue wire in TBK1's car:>)The 240's do have amp meters and mine spikes randomly, sometimes a little but on occasion a lot. I have not adjusted the timing curve yet, it is the way it left the factory. I set my initial timing at 15 degrees so I think my total advance will be 39 degrees which might be a bit high. Any ideas as to what could be causing the miss on all cylinders? Is the jumping amp meter just a Z thing? April 27, 200618 yr comment_165215 flashback to my old motor head days is that the spiking is not normal! The sons 73 doesnt do it. should see some thing when flashers or brake or turn signal applied , might have something shorted to ground or bounceing around touching intermitteantly. make sure you have a GOOD ground between the engine and body, add another ground strap to be positive ! When the gauge spikes it means there is something PULLING HIGH AMPS. could verify by checking amp draw with a "clamp-on-amp meter". any HVAC or electrical guy should have one. May 7, 200618 yr Author comment_166453 Well I checked my oil and it smelled of gas which I'm sure is a result of the engine missing. I'm having a real hard time isolating the problem or problems. Maybe I should drop a 280 dizzy in it to see if its the Unilite although I did replace the ignition module without any change. I also get a random buzzing from my Carter fuel pump and its not becuase of the way its mounted, the sound is internal to the pump. Never lasts long but I wonder if its going bad and thats what sometimes causes the amp gauge to fluctuate. This is really starting to drive me crazy!
