Container loads of skylines/240k?????

:ermm: Had a couple of guys lately asking if I would sell my 240k, their offers first @ a couple hundred dollars now we are almost at "name my price":bandit: they claim to be shipping containers of these overseas:pirate: I find container loads hard to believe.............can anyone shed any light on this???

I'm not sure what's going on but it seems there is a fair amount of interest in these cars from people living in Kuwait. I remember a guy signed up recently and showed us pics of all kinds of Zed cars over in Kuwait being used for show cars, drag cars and whatever cars. S30, S31.

I also know a guy who recently sold his 280zx to someone who wanted it in Kuwait and I think a 240k on ebay recently was being asked to be shipped to Kuwait by a guy interested in buying it.

Who knows maybe early Zeds and Skylines are a big thing over there???

Its not bad enought that these cars were crushed and sent overseas to be turned into hyuandai's and fridges by scrap metal merchants because they weren't valued by their owners, had all the front struts pilfered by 510 owners looking for brake upgrades.

Now the few that managed to survive are being hunted down, bought for a pittance and exported, to kuwait where they sell for alot more than they pay for them.

I can alost hear them now "Arr, its an old datsun, not worth anything, I'll take it off your hands for free, save you having to try and sell it".

I recon 240K's are rarer than 240Z's in Australia.

In Kuwait as well as Saudi Arabia as well as United Arab Emerates, we like

the 240k crazily !!!!!! cause we live with that car for decades 1973 up

to today.. for me I have a 1976 240k and I,ve paid about 5000 $ and

more eventhough it has some rest and missed many parts, you know

those guys whom go to Australia and pay you hundreds of dollars they

will pay thousands of them if your cars are LHD, cause we can not drive

them here in GCC countries (GCC means Gulf Counsol Coporation including

six Arab countries ) what we do we just cut the car into tow parts and

ship it otherwise we can not inter it to our countries !!!! our trafic office

in all GCC countries are so tough... then we start selling them as a spare parts ( yea it is a profitable challenge) we brought almost all the 240Ks in

Europe (about 60 pcs from Germany,11 pcs Portugal,10 pcs Holland

5 pcs Finland and .....) and about 300 pcs from Austrailia what to do you

are accepting the offer ........

our market prices nowadays are as follows

1- Europian 240K sedan with Skyline emblem good codition $ 18000

2- Europian 240K Coupe with Skyline emblem GC $ 12000

4- Europian 240K sedan with DATSUN emblem GC$ 13000

5- Europian 240K Coupe with DATSUN emblem GC $ 9000

6- UK, Australian, Newz, Japanese 240K sedan GC $ 8000

7- UK, Aus, Nz, Jp 240K coupe $ 6000

8- GCC 240K sedan GC $ 22000

9- GCC 240K coupe GC $ 18000

GCC means the car was imported to our pretty hot countries with

( A/C , Skyline badge on fender , steering wheel center, dashbord, at rear

between the tails, Steel distinguished rims and so and so)

sorry I wrote to much later I will show you some photos from my yard

which has C110 & C210 all of them KHLGC110 005019 but now I lost my

Digital Camera and thank you very much brother Austrailian and whom others

and please forgive us about what we did, BTW soon or later you will see no

C110 or C210 240Ks running in your street

Very interesting. Is there a market for S30 and S31s in GCC areas? I would imagine the parts are for the 240ks, C110s and C210s are not that easy to come by in GCC areas. Do most of the cars arrive in country at the Free Port in Jebel Ali? I fear the day that S30s from southern Cali and Arizona become wanted by the GCC. I used to be a British car owner in the 80s, one day I was a British Car junkyard in San Diego and there were these British guys there loading up containers of parts and cars from all over southern cali...before I knew it they cleaned out the junkyard and loaded up over 100 cars from the area. No days you rarely see a nice Triumph TR on the road or for sale.

second I wanna say that I and on behalf of my freinds whom can't speak Eng.

well that we love the C110 240k and the owners of the C110 240K craizly.

we like you we like the owners here in this forum we like whom ever participate (share) to make this jewelry existed, appriciated their efforts.

regarding the S30 & the S31 our people like also so much specially the S30

and people are not importing from Austrailia (RHD) they like the US one which

is LHD but what kilied the market is the relatively expensive prices followed by the official documentations (registration, valid inspection ( what we call

it here the MPVI Motor Periodic Vehichle Inspection) as well as the custom and the custom clearance and many other thing which send the price up to

$ 10000 or even more, that is for the stock,eventhough enthusiasts broght

from many overseas countries specially US. regarding the port it is no matter

to be Jabal Ali or any other we have Shuwaikh port, Dammam port and many

others, regading Triumph TR sorry I dont know what is that....

in my avatar you can see my 76 240K AWA tow (you know Montezuma I'm

35 Y old and I'm not sure about the spelling of the word tow means double,

twin !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont know why I can not remember the speling of this word

is it two or tow ?? any way .... as well as what I collected from the scrab here and thier when ever I see a 240K ( C110, C210) in a scrab I don't ask

how much you sell me this part or tat part I tell him sell me the whole car even though it is no more that a chassis BTW most of the scrab owners they dont know about the car too much but I will pay them what ever they ask cause I can't leave the scrab with out it specially if I find it far away some times 2000 Km distance anyway make you headache in this too many wards but waht to do we like to express our feelings first time I found on the internet people who like the 240k...........

that is pretty amazing! in australia, as you probably know the 240k (locally badged C110) was sold here in big numbers, it was a very popular car.. and to be honest, in the past 3 years i have seen only about 4 on the road (not including the 2 i owned).. the C110 and C210 popularity is starting to grow here now with a lot of the later skyline owners (that's where i came from).. it always amazes me that whenever i mention i own a 240k to anyone over the age of 35, they all have very fond memories of the 240k, many having owned them at some stage in their life..

anyway, it is good to see that you are all interested in the C110, it is certainly a good thing if your buying up all the wrecks here in australia, better they go to a good home than rust in a paddock somewhere.

the story of Skyline in Arab countries

S50 (was imported in Qatar and Kuwait and Lebanon only ..)

C10 (was imported in Skyline badge not DATSUN in Qatar, Kuwait, only.)

not sure but only my estimation about 1000 pcs were imported and only

two left now (the others were crushed by the iron & steel merchants whom

they just thing about their business and they crush what ever they reach

(most of them are rough and uneducated and unfamiliar...) the two survived

are both owned by one a 45 yo man in kuwait (red & smoke silver)

C110 (was imported by Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Lebanon, Oman and only little

in the west agency of Saudi Arabia (we have 3 nissan datsun agencies in

SA )) the total amount was about 10000 pcs 99% of them were crushed

C110 imported as Datsun (with datsun badges and a letter D in the steering

wheel center and wheel cap in Qatar, Oman, UAE, Jordan, Lebanon and all

the other countries in the middle east while it is imported as Skyline (with

Skyline badges and letter S in SW and WC..in Kuwait only amazing why !!??

what is left now !!!!!!! about 5 pcs in Oman 5 in Lebanon 3 Jordan 7 in saudi

including mine 5 UAE 2 Qatar 5 Syria 5 Iraq and about 150 pcs in Kuwait !!!!!

BTW Kuwait is only 650 KM from my village nowadays about 500 pcs in Kuwait

150 what is left from what was originaly imported and 350 personally imported

about 40 from europe 300 from Aust and 10 others (this information is my own

estimation as a lover since 1981....) and the # is increasing

C210 ( the as C110 story)

all cars that imported to our Middle east area are with the following chassis #

C110 sedan HLGC110 00 XXXX brand GT only ( no GL, no GTR, no GTX ...)

C110 coupe KHLGC110 00 XXXX mine KHLGC110 00 5019 same only GT

C210 sd HLGC210 00 XXXX for Kuwait and MLGC210 for Qatar and others

C210 Cp KHLGC210 00 XXXX OGT

our agencies in the 60's and 70's and early 80's imported as well

the C10 four cylinder (non independent suspension) sedan and box which

no collector like (one scrap in Al Ahsa (east of Saudi Arabia up to this moment

have about 20 rust pcs....

C110 & C210 four cylinder (NIS) we don't like them , we use them as spare parts , we call them 180K some collector feel shy to ride them.

hope less than one month youll see photos (remember previously when

tried to put some in some forums . no access the camera which I lost was

4 mega pixle and most of forum dont allow such a like this size. winzip don't

know how to use any way I'll try to get help by one of my computer sp.

Hey, maybe the red 240K (C210) I sold in december 2005 lives now in your country :cheeky: The buyer spoke english and I think the car was shipped from Finland.

Did you skyc110 visit Finland yourself? Who knows, maybe we have met in that case :D

unfourtunately no. I wish to visit. I think your C210 now already in

Kuwait (I'll check it cous Q8 as we abriviated is only 650 km from my

village and I visit it annualy.

1- was your C210 I or II ( I is 1978 and 1979 4 lights in the front II is 1980

and 1981 2 lights in front)

2- was your car DATSUN badge or Skyline

3- sedan or coupe

any way if a C110 or a C210 imported overseas it will not be parked in the

road (it will be parked deeply inside the house)

imagin I know one enthusiast has 240K C110 and Mercedes 300 Sel with one

garage he park the K inside and the Mer Out !!!!!!!!!?????

prices are only for the C110 and C210 are high and 80% of that prices will

be given to the C130 coupe and C230 coupe.

but imagin collectors here don't know the faimous 510 !!!!! lying in the scraps

for some years then crushed. in middle east I saw one only in Lebanon (light blue) running and one in Kuwait parked for the last 20 ys (not running) and

5 pcs in Saudi Arabia scraps (no value for the 510 here !!)

another example Skyline 1982 1983 (I think it is called R31 right) price is

($ 1000 - $ 1300 max) Skyline 84 & 85 ( the one withoutfront grid $1200 -

$ 2000 max) 86,87,88,89 ($ 1500 - $ 3500 max)

90, and abve up to 2005 no one like them (only the new generation whom

dont know the old skyline awa we doubt that they r RHD converted to LHD )

we like the C110 , C210 here specially the C110 because

1- the well galvanized bumbers

2- the shining stainless steel (chrom)

3- the aluminum front grid

4- the chromiam fender mirror (BTW our C110 has fender mirror, whenever we imp. with door mirror we change it soon and if it is black we but the chromiam

5- the wooden steering

6- the 240 km/h spedometer ( eventhough we can't reached it)

7- the most important thing that pushing us to love the C110 is (please

share me your opinion in this point and forget the other please ..

is the special cut shape (non arc) that covers the back wheel !!!!!!!

hope all undersd what I mean , we never found that in any other Datsuns

this special cut continue to be in the C210 but not exactly the same. write

8- the rear independent suspension.

9-the seven circls in the dashboard (one small on the left, tow big in the middle

and four small in the right.

10- the twin round tail for the sedan

11- the parallel side cut for the coupe. which creat the big triangle in the side where the circular decoration (gas cover and decoration) are their.

12- the easy maintenance
