A newbie from Colorado

Recommended Posts

Hello I just got a 75 280 and I have been looking for all and any info on Zcars and out of all the sites I have been to this is my first post. The Z I got is not in bad shape it has the rusty floors but the motor looks new and it does run strong even with the auto it has the L28 with a N47 head. I'm really happy that parts are out there for these old cars. I look forward to talking with you all. If the pic will post, anyone from from Colo has seen or knows any of the history on it please let me know.. Thanks....Well itseems I need to resize my pic a little.

Cethern , Welcome to the club . I think you will find the members to be helpful. By all means have a look at the search feature , you may find the articles in the tech section helpful also . Gary

Enigma.. The car does have rusty floors that the PO tried to patch But so far I have yet to crawl all the way under the car at the moment none of my jacks will fit under it.

Before I bought it I got a cat from MSA and LMC/ Black dragon. to see what parts where out there and now that I have the net again if only for a short while I see there is more stuff out there than for any of my old Chevy's

wfi_colorado I live in Federal Heights

I'm planning on going to the ZCCC Wensday night and see what that club is like.

Beandip

I have been doing some of that on here and other sites.

Some of my first ideas after doing something with the floors and making sure everything is ok with the drivetrain is to put a 5sp in it the auto is nice but a car like a Z needs a manual. And now that I have seen some of whats on the web and going through MSA's wish book I'm really going to have to sit down and make a plan on which way I want the car to go

Hi Eric, that's a sharp looking 280Z you have. I really like that color of blue.

Longmont is having a car show this weekend for Cinco de Mayo, I'm planning to take my Z. I took the Z to a small show last Saturday in the King

Soopers parking lot near my house. Only 20-25 cars showed up, but there were some nice ones. No other Z cars, though...

I've seen the house you mentioned. The Z's in the yard have been there for awhile, perhaps they need a new home???

Eric,

Looks pretty nice! Is it blue or more of a turquoise? I guess I need to get a pic of my car. Need to finish the carbs and get it out of the garage first. Looks like the 240z style bumper on the front as well. Didn't all 280's have the bigger bumpers?

Thanks for nice coments on the Z as for the color I want to call it a metal flake teal...Maybe..I have called it a light blue The car needs a name along with some rear tires LOL

Bill I want to say that in 77 they went to the bigger bumper this cars b-day is 2/75 maybe that could have something to do with the 240 style bumper which I like, the rear is a big square thing that is ugly..LOL

Z Car Club of Colorado had their meetting tonight and I had planned to go but the wife had other plans for me from what I read on their site is they are haveing a secret drive this weekend...which sound like fun but untill I get those rears replaced with some new Kumos something like that will have to wait.
