Repair or replace Oil Pan?

I have determined that my oil pan isthe source ofthe spots on the driveway. On the lift, we could see the axact source ofte leak(s), so we thought there might be some pinholes from rust on the side (bottom looked OK).

The new question now, is should I have the oil pan removed, blasted and coated /soldered or just get a new one?What kind of place could do the repair? ZX, so which new or used ones could I use? anything from an L26, L28 or L28 ZX engine?

If I recall correctly the oil pan from '70-83 were all the same except for on the turbo engines so yes they are interchangeable. I would just pick up a used one to replace the one you have, a whole lot cheaper and should be very easy to source (check eBay I saw one there this week, or I'm sure that someone on the forum has a few spares available).

There were 4 different oil pans. 69-70 got a pan with a side drain, 71-78 was identical to 69-70 but with the more familiar aft drain, 79-83 N/A had a pan with a sump set farther back and an aft drain, and of course the turbo pan. The thing to remember is to match the pan to the oil pickup tube. The S130 cars had a different oil pickup than the S30 cars. They are all interchangable but the pickup needs to match the pan....and BTW you physically cannot mount the s30 pan on a block with a s130 pickup or vice versa. However, if you put a s130 pan and pickup in a s30 car, you can remove and replace the pan without lifting the engine.

Actually, there are 5 oil pans but whatever you do, don't get one from an 810 or RWD Maxima. As similar as the engines look, the L24E has a front sump oil pan because of the different steering setup on those cars.

I think I will look for one on eBay, but whatever I get, I'll have it blasted, epoxy coated and painted with Ford blue
