santamaus Posted May 1, 2006 Share #1 Posted May 1, 2006 So--it finally happened. Someone sideswiped my Z in a parking lot and drove off without a word, note, or anything. Nice thing to come out from my break at work to find.My question is--are any of you local to the Seattle area and have a body shop that you would recommend? The jerk managed to destroy the rear side markerlight, and I'd like to find a shop that will actually look for the right piece rather than telling me that there's no way they can find a 34 year old markerlight. Not to mention that the dent will need to be smoothed out by someone who knows what it's supposed to look like. Thanks in advance for any leads you can give me.Chris

bobs77 Posted May 2, 2006 Share #4 Posted May 2, 2006 Chris,Try Z Specialties in Snohomish for parts. He's not the cheapest around, but he has lots of donor Z's around his shop, and decades of knowledge. He may also be able to point you in the direction of a body shop that knows Z's.Bob

peng155 Posted May 5, 2006 Share #6 Posted May 5, 2006 I recently had my car work done up in Woodinville at a shop called Fenders And Fins,Their website is: http://www.fendersandfins.com/I whole heartedly recommend them... they aren't inexpensive, but they do great work... check their site out and see some of the stuff that they've done, and are currently doing....The owner Jon Carson is a great guy... and is a car nut..... zmann Posted May 5, 2006 Share #7 Posted May 5, 2006 My constant fear is to have your experience. I am so fearful that I will try to park where I can see the car in the lot. If in a restaurant, my table must let me see the car. If I can't see, I will go out before done to make sure no one is parked next to it. My first z was totaled by a pickup in the rear end and I watch my rear view mirror, watching distances. My greatest fear that when fixed, it will never look the same. A car hit me in the fender and the paint didn't match because of oxidation. I am sorry for your loss. May the creep who did this, live in tormented hell.
