Posted May 2, 200618 yr comment_165799 I bought a triple weber setup locally off of a wrecked 280z,and the linkage rod is bent up, and I think two plastic bushings are missing that keep the linkage tight. I was trying to find out what type of manifold it is so I can get new linkage parts. On the bottom ,there is the number 0030 stamped into the casting. Also , instead of having the bolt type linkage guides, it has two uprights cast into the aluminum. Any help would be appreciated. May 2, 200618 yr comment_165806 The Mikuni uses a 10mm rod that the linkage attaches to. I think the Cannon uses a 3/8" rod. Of course, the Mikuni usually has a giant MIKUNI cast into it and the Cannon says Cannon on one of the runners... May 2, 200618 yr comment_165929 Don't forget the great quality TWM manifolds... they have TWM embossed in the center top of the middle carby flange... I can get the thickness of the rod for you if you have this one... May 2, 200618 yr Author comment_165930 My manifold doesn't have a name stamped on it, just the #0030 on the bottom. I'll try to post pictures as soon as I figure out how. May 4, 200618 yr Author comment_166066 I couldn't figure out how to downsize my pictures to post them here, but I posted them on my member's gallery. You can check them out as soon as they're approved. Thanks for looking. May 4, 200618 yr comment_166164 That looks like a TWM manifold to me...Check if the runners are 45mm at the carby ends... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19873-triple-weber-manifold-identification/#findComment-166164 Share on other sites
May 7, 200618 yr Author comment_166494 I measured the carb side of the manifold and the openings are about 42mm. The linkage rod measures 3/8" , and the two holes where the linkage goes through are 1/2". There were plastic bushings that made the linkage tight and acted as a bearing, but they were cracked. Do you know any place where I can get parts like this? May 7, 200618 yr comment_166495 Sounds like something that would be easy to replicate with a lathe. Maybe an oiled bronze bushing instead of plastic.42mm... Weber makes a 42mm carb I think, but it's kind of an oddball. You could port the manifold out to fit 44's or 45's. May 7, 200618 yr Author comment_166546 The carbs I have are Weber 40 dcoe 151 series. These were on the manifold when I bought it. The setup was on a running 280z owned by a friend of whom I bought them from. According to him, the guy was on a back road in PA, and hit a hump going 130, and flipped the z on it's roof in a corn field. The driver's buddy got hurt pretty bad, and the driver went to jail, so he sold the kit to this guy cheap. I got the setup for $200, everything is in good shape except the linkage. May 8, 200618 yr comment_166554 Well the fact that the carb opening is smaller than the manifold is preferable when compared to the manifold opening being smaller than the carb opening. It should work just fine. I'd be surprised if you couldn't find that bushing readily available, but if you did have to have it made it should be really easy for any machine shop to make you one. Looks like a nice manifold all in all! May 8, 200618 yr comment_166667 TWM has a website I think... in any case there are several Weber carby specialists who have a huge variety of linkage options and parts... Try Pierce Manifolds.... or Weber direct.... Get some measurements and they can crosscheck parts...
