Posted May 2, 200618 yr comment_165803 This one looks like it may have some promise? I am in GA but would like to have a low VIN '70. Anyone seen this one before and care to comment?http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/9/7/83932497.htmThanks,James Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19874-anyone-know-of-this-70-240z-in-lake-forrest-ca/ Share on other sites
May 2, 200618 yr comment_165826 I've never see it before but that's obviously not the original hood. Not sure of that's important to you or not. I guess it depends on if you're looking to do an all original restore or a visually accurate restore. May 2, 200618 yr Author comment_165842 Yes, I would like to have an original car. I guess I could always replace the hood with an original.James Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19874-anyone-know-of-this-70-240z-in-lake-forrest-ca/#findComment-165842 Share on other sites

May 7, 200618 yr comment_166517 I'm always afraid of cars with brand new paint - always wonder what's underneath. I'd want to have it thoroughly inspected for rust... May 7, 200618 yr comment_166519 Is it me, or does the first picture look like the gas door is perfectly round? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19874-anyone-know-of-this-70-240z-in-lake-forrest-ca/#findComment-166519 Share on other sites
May 7, 200618 yr comment_166533 It looks to me like he doesn't know what original condition is-To the best of my knowledge all 240Zs came with a front bumper, rubber trim on the rear bumper, a better aligned, non-vented hood, a dent free lower valence, grills on the rear deck, a single chrome and stainless door mirror, no overspray on the front combination light and side marker seals, front grill, and wiper boots. Add that to no pictures of theengine compartment, and interior and you have probably got a quick tape-up style paintjob which meant the beauty is only skin(paint film) deep. I would have to have a looksee myself to be convinced the parts weren't put on a driver, and a quick cosmetic job done. The price begs questioning too. If it was suitable to restore, it could be a good candidate, but there isn't nearly enough in the ad to tell. Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19874-anyone-know-of-this-70-240z-in-lake-forrest-ca/#findComment-166533 Share on other sites
