Posted May 2, 200618 yr comment_165902 what are you guys doing for updated wheels? 14" is simply a non-starter for me. I'll be switching to at least a 16x8, but probably 17". i've heard these have the same pattern as a couple early fords but not sure i want to throw alot of brake and sticky tires on those small four bolts. anybody got anything 'better'? the car will be exclusively a track car so i need some serious fastening to keep the wheel attatched to the car. May 2, 200618 yr comment_165906 Those four lugs will not have a problem keeping the wheels attached. Anyway, if this is going to be souly a track car, you may want to figure out what class you intend to run in and then acquire a rule book to see what is permisible in that class. Better yet, go to some of the races, talk to the drivers and mechanics, check out their cars......nothing like first hand experience. May 2, 200618 yr comment_165919 Yup, check the rulebook first, you may be severely limited as to the wheel size (mostly diameter) that is allowed. As for me, if I were doing a set of track wheels and tires, I'd probably stick with 15" - definitely not bigger than 16" - to keep the unsprung weight down. Still plenty of really good 15" tires available. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19890-what-wheels/#findComment-165919 Share on other sites
