So I'm coming home from my girlfriend's house last night at 11:45, and I hit the last long straight before I get into town and I hear this *PANG* . I'm like WTF just happend? I slow down, hoping nothing is broken. Turns out some kid or something was shooting rocks or bb's at cars as they drove by, and he nailed my driver's side door. Small ding, chip in the paint.

Why does this crap happen to me? I hardly even drive my car anymore, I get a ride from my girlfriend to school!

I'm just really lucky he didn't shatter the window or worse yet, if my window was down, hit me in the face or the ear. I play trombone in a professional-level jazz band, so that would have been terrible.

I swear, I hope that kid is out there tonight so I can stop and give him some hell.

Some young blokes are just plain crazy.

The latest fad down here is playing chicken on the freeway. ON FOOT !!!

The idiots even lie down on the roadway, ducking out of the way at the last moment.

Another "fun thing" is to stand on the side of the freeway and throw eggs at passing cars.

One "fun thing to do" that raises it's ugly head every now and then is to throw large rocks at trucks windscreens from overhead bridges/walkways.

Stupid.

I had some peanut throw a water bomb at my car recently and it smashed the door mirror clean off, the reason I say peanut is I watched him run into a yard (as I was struggling to control a car with all 4 wheels locked up ) The fear in his eyes when he saw me coming for him was almost as good as the fear in his eyes when I explained to his grandfather what the little $^!# had just done. Heres hoping he got a good thrashing.

Some related facts.

In Central Ohio, a man returned to the scene with his shot gun and killed one of the perps. He fired into the corn field and a pellet went into the fellows heart! The perps were Amish young people, teens and young 20's, hiding in the corn field throwing tomatoes at cars as had been a fall tradition of sorts.

Turns out the man actually knew the person he killed. He plead it out to ??manslauter I think.

Then just west of Columbus, about 4 years ago, a youth threw a rock off an overpass and seriouly injured a minister. The minister is blind now.

The youth was caught, don't know the consequences.

I've been pegged with a BB gun while driving at night too, but not in the Z. My old Tercel didn't have safety glass rear quarter windows, and it just blew inwards.

In the back seat was a single no frills steel BB, and the cops found a CO2 cartridge at the scene. Cost me 50 bucks to get a new window from the yard, but we won't mention how I broke a few while trying to get them out.
